Hidden Lake Retreat Policies and Park Rules

  • Payments:

    Payment in full is required at the time of booking.

    Cancellation and Rescheduling:

    In the event that you must cancel or reschedule dates, please see the applicable policy below and then call our office at 252-617-8562 to speak with a staff member.

    There is no fee for cancelling or rescheduling 31+ days from your reservation date.

    If you reschedule 15 to 30 days prior to your arrival date, then a $35 fee is applied for glamp sites and a $5 fee for primitive tent sites. If you reschedule 14 days or less from your arrival date, then a $50 fee is applied for glamp sites and a $20 fee for primitive tent sites.

    If you cancel 15 to 30 days prior to your arrival date, 50% of your stay amount will be forfeited.

    If you cancel 14 days or less prior to your arrival date, then your full stay amount is forfeited.

    Refunds:

    We do not issue refunds due to inclement weather. Additionally, we do not provide refunds for early guest departure, whether by choice or due to eviction for violation of park policies.

    Full refunds are given for cancellations made 31+ days prior to arrival date.

    A 50% refund for the full stay amount is given for cancellations made 15-30 days prior to arrival date.

    No refunds are given for cancellations 14 days or less prior to arrival date.

  • Hidden Lake Retreat operates as an automated stay experience. A camp host or staff member will not be onsite most of the time. You may see a staff member during your stay for general purposes. You can call the office (252-617-8562) for any issues or questions. You can also text the office number. If no answer, leave a message and a staff member will contact you shortly.

    Check-In: 3:00PM

    Check in time is at 3:00 pm EST. Please do not arrive prior to check in time as we do not allow early check-ins. We must have time to prepare and clean the site between guests. Hidden Lake Retreat operates as an automated check-in and stay facility. We do not have a camp host onsite. Once you check in online, then you can head straight to your site on the day of your arrival. The registered guest responsible for the unit/site must be at least 21 years of age. Only guest within the party are allowed. A credit card must also remain on file for incidentals.

    Check-Out: 11:00AM

    To make sure we can clean and prepare for incoming guests, all guests must vacate no later than 11:00AM EST. Please make sure to remove any trash or food from the tent and place it in the trash cans. Place all dirty towels in the towel bin. Please close up the tent before leaving.

  • Swimming:

    Swimming is permitted in the designated space within the roped area. Guest under 16 must wear life vest while swimming. The beach area drops off about 5' off shore. Please use caution while swimming as there is no life guards present. Swim at your own risk. Do not swim outside of the swimming zone. The lake can have hazards throughout, like boulders and old tree trunks.

    Quiet Hours:

    10:00PM - 7:00AM

    No loud music, excessive noise, or disorderly conduct during quiet hours. Be courteous to the guest around you.

    Damage / Loss:

    Registered guests will be liable for the full cost of any damage caused by the guest to the property or facilities. Guests will also be charged for any items missing from rental units after checkout.

    Garbage:

    Please help us keep our property clean by placing all garbage in the trash and recycling bins located on the property. Please do not burn trash, and please do not leave trash unattended outside over night as you could attract animals.

    Parking:

    Limit of (1) vehicle per reservation. Park in designated parking area only.

    Glamp Sites:

    (2-4) people per glamp tent. Additional $5 per guest for reservations over (2). Twin cots can be rented also. Tent space may be tight for (4) adults.

    Tent Sites:

    Primitive tent sites may have up to (6) people per site. Additional $5 per guest for reservations over (4).

    Visitors:

    Only registered guests are permitted to enter the park.

    Campfires:

    Controlled campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only. Fires must be supervised while burning and then fully extinguished. Only firewood is allowed in fire pits. Fire pits may not be relocated.

    Pets:

    NO pets are permitted for glamp site reservations. Pets are permitted for tent site reservations. Pets must remain on a leash at all times. Be sure to clean up after your pets waste. Excessive barking is not permitted.

    Smoking:

    NO smoking, vaping, or tobacco use in the glamp tents.

    Theft and Loss:

    Campers are responsible for securing their personal property, including, but not limited to, their campers and contents, vehicles, tents, or any other personal property. The campground, its owner and employees are not responsible or liable for theft or loss of any kind, nor damage caused by acts of God, fires, floods, windstorms, explosions, lightning strikes, accidents, or vandalism.

    Fishing:

    The park operates on a “catch and release” policy

    Kayak/Canoe/Pedal Boat Use:

    Kayaks can be rented during your stay, or guests can bring their own. Guest under 16 must wear a life vest while kayaking/canoeing. The lake can have strong currents at times. Life vests are provided with kayak rental. Guests must provide their own life vest if using their own kayak or canoe. Pedal boats can also be rented during your stay. Please leave life vest inside the kayak after your stay.
